Charming, warm historic setting.
Grace, romance, family and friendship are all words that depict what every Bride and Groom hope for on their special day. This is exactly what Mr. and Mrs. Brown had in mind when they built “Avoca Lodge” not only for their pleasure, but the enjoyment of close family and friends.
Built in 1897 by the Browns, this beloved country home, museum and national historic landmark are for the first time being released to the public for private functions. Weddings, receptions, showers, graduation, business and family functions are all welcome.
The interior of the house has been beautifully restored from J.J.’s “mighty” fireplace in the country room, to imported tiles in the parlor. In addition, renovation of the outside grounds was just completed.
Tucked onto an acre of century old trees, you and your love can dance the night away on their gracefully curved cobble stone patio under the umbrella of magnificent trees. Stroll the grounds on walking paths which surround the house, buffet on the flagstone landing or just enjoy the view from one of two elevated summer porches.
They have an excellent list of qualified professionals to handle every detail of your event and are delighted to assist you with any important decisions from caterer to floral, photographer to music.
Whatever your needs, they hope you will visit them soon. The Molly Brown Summer House is truly “history in your own backyard!”
The Molly Brown Summer House will gladly provide you with a list of trusted caterers that can design a menu to fit your budget or special needs. Located at the corner of So. Wadsworth Blvd. at Yale.
